Trek Travel Bike Tours Reviews
Trek Travel, a relative newcomer to the bike tour industry, has been getting some excellent reviews since their start in 2003. Trek offers a wide selection of destinations, difficulty levels, inclusions and has two accommodation options for most of their tours, which is great for travelers looking for a less expensive option.
However, their tours rarely use the top hotels in a region to keep pricing down. If you're a luxury traveler and want the absolute best accommodations you won't normally find them with Trek Travel. For most travelers, the hotel selection with Trek is perfectly fine.
Trek Travel appears to have created their business by hand-selecting the best elements of each of the top tour operators to make their tours uniquely special. At first glance, they appear as upscale as Butterfield & Robinson, as well priced as VBT, and as young and stylish as DuVine. It's yet to be seen how they can handle their rapid growth as they've added numerous new destinations to their roster in the past few years, but they've so far been able to build a loyal following of avid cyclists.
Because Trek Travel is owned by an internationally renowned bicycle company, some of the trips are a little on the difficult side when compared to other operators. Travelers looking for a more active tour with a slightly younger group will have plenty of options to choose from. Leisure cyclists who would rather eat first, ride later, may find Trek Travel itineraries to be less than ideal.
Reports in the industry over the past couple years have mentioned that Trek has a habit of letting their group sizes get quite large (over 20) compared to the rest of the industry. It can make for a logistically difficult trip with so many riders and take some of the fluidity and relaxed nature away from the ride. This is certainly a point of concern to be aware of before booking your trip. But, upon request they will likely provide you with a headcount for any of their upcoming bike tours.

Trek Travel Customer Reviews
Just returned from a fabulous TT trip in Provence. Fabulous in every way: high-end Domane road bikes; multi-talented, fun, and accommodating guides; lovely accommodations; and excellent riding, routes, scenery, and cultural insights. We'll do another TT trip again soon!Posted by Steve Mabley on Monday, September 2, 2013
Trek Travel truly delivered a trip of a lifetime with their Ultimate Tour de France trip. It was everything you could imagine and more. We rode up epic climbs, stayed in beautiful hotels, had cocktails with Jens Voight, and climbed all the way through the finish line atop Alpe D'Huez. I can't begin to explain how great my guides were (they were the best!). By the end of the trip I came away with new friends and memories to last a lifetime. I can't wait to book my next trip with Trek Travel.Posted by Kendall Zurbuchen on Friday, July 31, 2015
